what people are saying.

"Tabitha and Adam are deeply equipped to lead anti-racism workshops - plus they are highly relational, reliable and bring a welcome spirit of collaboration. Tabitha and Adam crafted an hour and a half workshop for our summer justice camp - full of varying ages, cultures, ethnicities, beliefs and identities. Their camp background, anti-racism knowledge, and lived experiences made them ideal persons for our camp. The workshop was age appropriate and utilized varied elements to keep kids attention. There were movement activities, craft, head, heart, and body elements. Would love to collaborate again."

“Tabitha was very warm but also direct. I appreciated how she used her own experience as a parent to help connect to the audience, but also understood her role as an educator. It was a great marriage of both teaching and connecting…Tabitha truly did exactly what we set out to do: teach our audience the "why" behind anti-racist parenting and come up some actionable ideas and strategies for our parents of young children to take away. It was so impressive how knowledgeable she was about parenting and learning for this age group -- I would call on her anytime to help us bring more education around anti-racism to our audience and educators.”

Jessica Pallay

VIVVI Early Learning

"Adam and Tabitha are so approachable and make this conversation approachable and accessible so that it doesn't have to feel so daunting and difficult. I also think they remind parents that it really isn't one that can be put off and needs to start at a young age."

SaSaDi Odunsi

“The workshop was exactly what we were hoping and looking for. We know our community is looking for resources to build antiracism into their parenting practice and family life. I think the workshops really gave people who are just beginning down this road a strong foundation, and for those who consider themselves actively antiracist, there were plenty of new ideas. The workshop series was well organized, and delivered in a way that encouraged engagement and further thinking on the topic. The content was in-depth, well organized and included a lot of actionable information.”

“I'm so grateful for the opportunity to learn from you all and from all the other participants! Thank you so much for offering this -- we're excited about the last session next week. My daughter asked how many more sessions there are and said she wished there were 9 more :) I appreciate that you've made something that is actually difficult for her still feel interesting and fun -- although she can get emotional in the moment during the workshop if she feels stuck or overwhelmed during activities, she is still happy to be attending them and excited before they begin.”

How To Talk To Kids About Antiracism with Womxn of Tomorrow

"Tabitha and Adam are a good balance of one another - we enjoyed their easy and friendly demeanor. The format was very organized and it was obvious they were very knowledgable. As they were presenting to parents of elementary aged children, their personal stories were so helpful to the audience. They were open, honest, and genuine in their presentation and answering of questions. Tabitha and Adam are easy to work with as presenters and speakers. The communication leading up to and during the speaker series was timely, organized, and friendly."

“THANK YOU so much for doing this! I'm learning to be a better grandmother to kids who are learning/working on anti-racism. From a 60s background as an MLK/Civil Rights Movement person, so much is different in how these extraordinarily important problems are discussed and worked on. You are terrific!”

"I have known Tabitha for many years and across multiple forums. I can only speak in superlatives about her strategic mind, passion about social justice, and organizational wizardry. Her range is something to behold: she has had a career working with youth with special needs, she has created and managed her own sustainable zero-waste fashion line, and she was at the core of planning some historic Women's March protests. I have seen her speak with college students, and her ability to connect authentically with her audience is a gift indeed. She models the work in which she is engaged, and for me this is the ultimate task in justice work: to live out the credo 'that we all deserve to have lives imbued with maximal dignity'."

“I originally brought Tabitha to FIT as a keynote speaker for our annual Sustainable Business & Design conference, have since asked her back as a moderator for a panel during Sustainability Awareness Week, and have recommended her to numerous organizations because I couldn't have asked for a better speaker and role model for our students. She has the ability to raise awareness about how issues of human rights, racial justice, poverty, sustainability, and the treatment of women and girls are all interwoven throughout the fashion and creative industries. At a time when many throw out buzzwords and academic concepts to address global challenges like climate change and racism, Tabitha has an authentic voice that cuts through the noise and helps an audience gain a better understanding of the impact and intersectionality of race, gender, immigration and socio-economic status on individuals and groups. Bringing her to speak on campus was one of the best decisions I've made and now I follow her writing and I continue to learn from Tabitha all the time.”

“Tabitha found the perfect pitch to speak with our students, holding the rapt attention of nearly 300 high schoolers at 9 o'clock in the morning. She shared vulnerably and provocatively. It was clear that she's walked with, supported and listened to youth. They felt respected while simultaneously having the opportunity to engage with a real life movement and equity superstar.”

IMANI CHAPMAN

“Tabi is organized, resourceful, patient and honest with all of her suggestions and feedback. She helped us to set clear goals towards racial equity and clearly define how we can work to achieve them. She worked with us to establish baseline data so we have a starting off point to track our progress and create our company racial equity goals which will live permanently on the website. The readings were also a great addition! I thought the consulting style worked really well for me, the scheduled meetings and agenda helped to hold me accountable and her real time accessibility was super helpful for in the moment questions. I'm just so glad we chose to work with Tabi, especially as we worked to define our goals around racial equity and establish our workplace culture with a growing team. Her guidance was really important during this early part of the process.”

“The combination of her sustainability savvy and passion for inspiring women produces a special kind of fashion alchemy-the result of which is a label that’s paving the way for the future of fashion and challenging the rest of the industry to follow suit.”

“Tabitha visited Specialized Studio - Systems and Society, a course I taught at Parsons School of Design, in the fall of 2016. In the course students examine fashion as a set of systems and their many roles as designers in those systems. Tabitha spoke to the students with passion and clarity of her work then as a designer-activist, and about the intersections of sustainability and social justice in fashion at a time when the two discourses were still mostly treated as separate. I am grateful for the difference Tabitha’s visit made to the students’ learning experience; she is a living example of new ways of being and working in fashion.”
