<image:title>WRITINGS - Raising antiracist kids column</image:title>
<image:caption>Tabitha is the author of the biweekly column, Raising Anti-Racist Kids with Romper.com. After six years of writing about the power and complexities of being a Black mother to multiracial children, Tabitha was moved to join with Romper on this important series. This column is designed to educate, as well as be a guide for parents who are looking for actionable ways to raise antiracist children. Tabitha provides conversation guides, as well as recommendations for kids books, while encouraging a deeper analysis around systemic racism, race, and the role of parenting in raising kids who are powerful people, accomplices and change-makers.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Tabitha consulted with Penguin on the kids book, The Little Book of Little Activists, released in Fall 2017. The empowering message of this book is that you’re never too young to care about your community or to stand up for your beliefs. A child’s very first introduction to political activism, presented at a level that they can understand and relate to, including how real kids exercise their first amendment rights. Perfect for parents who want to raise their kids to become participatory members of a democracy.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Tabitha wrote the first chapter of the book, 100 Diverse Voices on Parenthood, released in Fall 2022. Consisting of guidance from one of the most diverse collections of writers and compiled by A Kids Book About, this book is a how-to for parents of all ages. Tabitha sets the tone of the book by penning the first chapter on raising an antiracist baby. Through her eloquent weaving of language, she lays out actionable guidance for parents and caregivers on how to raise babies to be little changemakers, from as young as possible.</image:caption>

<image:title>WRITINGS - A WOMAN’s PLACE</image:title>
<image:caption>For the timely and necessary re-publishing of Marita Golden’s classic book, A Woman’s Place, Tabitha was asked to write the foreword. Binding together the stories of motherhood, parenting, sisterhood, joy and struggle, Tabitha’s words opened the doors for Golden’s masterful storytelling in this novel. At once captivating and full of depth and resonance, Tabitha’s foreword brought a modern day feminist take to a book that is still relevant to this very day. Her work accompanying the brilliant Golden’s was a delightful pairing that resulted in a book that is sure to find its place in the heart of many women and parents.</image:caption>

<image:title>ACTIVISM - FEMINIST ORGANIZING</image:title>
<image:caption>Tabitha works to demonstrate the defining and oft-overlooked power of everyday women to enact change. As a founding member of Movement Women TT, she seeks to end gender-based violence in Trinidad & Tobago. In 2017, she co-led the one day strike, A Day Without A Woman, which saw international participation. Women withheld paid and unpaid labor, at home and at work, organizing in streets across the world to make clear that women’s labor must result in equal pay for equal labor, adequate support in the home and professionally, the right to make decisions about our own bodies and the right to dismantle systems that seek to marginalize us.</image:caption>

<image:title>ACTIVISM - Youth ALLY</image:title>
<image:caption>As an adult ally, Tabitha has guided young people in emboldening their power to create change. She has led several workshops and talks about the power of youth in community organizing and in fashion. Tabitha co-founded Youth EMPOWER, the youth arm of Women’s March and led the team in organizing the 2018 Enough! National School Walkouts that saw over 2.1 million students walk out of schools demanding safety from gun violence. Tabitha also co-coordinated a Youth Ambassador program which saw 31 young people from all over the country recognized for their outstanding activist work. She created the Empower Student Toolkit, a collaboration between Women’s March, Rock The Vote, Teen Vogue, and others that provided actionable guidance for organizing.</image:caption>

<image:caption>After joining the Women’s March team at its inception and helping organize the historic Women’s March on Washington in 2017, Tabitha went on to serve as Deputy Executive Director of Program for the organization. Tabitha currently serves as Chief Partnerships Officer. In this role, among other duties, she has led partnerships with many organizations and groups across the country as well as with the WNBA, Lush Cosmetics, Ben & Jerry's, Johnny Walker, Cora Women and more.
